COSTA MESA - To say the least, the first game under the moniker "Beach Bowl" will not be soon forgotten, which is a bad thing for the Orange Coast College Pirates.
Thanks to five turnovers and one big Rustler offensive play, the heavily favored Pirates watched rival Golden West claim the Victory Bell with a 20-13 win on Saturday night at LeBard Stadium.

NORWALK - The last time the Orange Coast College football team defeated Cerritos, most of the current Pirates were being looked at by preschools, not colleges. But win they did, 17-7, on Saturday night, breaking the Falcons' eight-game winning streak against the Pirates, dating back to 1991.

COSTA MESA - While Orange Coast showed no fear against the state's No. 1 team, the Saddleback Gauchos showed why they've earned the penthouse suite in the rankings.
Falling behind 17-0, the Gauchos showed the determination of a No. 1-ranked team and pulled out a 23-17 overtime win against a spirited Pirate squad on Saturday at LeBard Stadium.
